Connecting you to families in need

CarePortal is Care-Sharing technology that drives action for local children and families in crisis. It’s an online platform bringing the real-time needs of hurting children and families in the Indianapolis area to our attention.
Department of Child Services caseworkers uncover critical material needs of the families with whom they work. Then, CarePortal makes local churches who have signed up, including Rise Church, aware of these needs and provides the opportunity to respond.
Rise Church also has the capacity to enter Church-Entered Needs for the community at-large. This allows the CarePortal team to meet needs beyond the requests submitted by the DCS caseworkers. Contact a Team Leader listed below if you need more information about submitting a Church-Entered Need. The CarePortal Team may be able to help.

What happens after I sign up?

You will receive an e-mail notification from a Rise Church Care Portal Team Leader who will activate your request to join the team.

Once activated, you will receive information about ways to assist local families in need. As a member of the Response Team, you may respond to as many or as few requests as you’d like.

How may I give to the Rise Church CarePortal fund?

Anyone can contribute to the Rise Church Care Portal ministry. All donated funds are considered tax-deductible. The funds will be used to meet the needs of vulnerable children in our community. There are two ways to give:

Contribute to the Rise Church Care Portal fund through Fellowship One Giving by clicking “Give Through Fellowship One” below to reach the “Care Portal Ministry” in the drop-down “Fund” menu.

How can I help on a delivery day?

The large item delivery team makes deliveries two times per month. You can volunteer as a delivery truck volunteer (loading, unloading, and assembly) or a family greeter (does not require any heavy lifting). Click below to learn more or to sign up for dates that work for you

How can I donate items?

We accept items that are in high-demand for CarePortal requests. This includes the following new items:
  • Twin and full sheet sets
  • Twin and full comforter sets
  • Toddler mattresses
  • Twin, full, and queen mattresses 
  • Mattress protectors
  • Infant, convertible, and booster car seats
We accept the following pre-owned items:
  • Dressers
  • Dining/kitchen tables and chairs
  • Crib frames
  • Twin, Full, and Queen frames
  • Bunk bed frames
  • Non-sleeper sofas without stains or rips
We do NOT normally accept clothing. However, we accept clothing donations in special circumstances. If you have items to donate, give them to a CarePortal Team member or contact any of the Team Leaders listed below with any questions.

What if I want to review open requests?

Click on the “VIEW OPEN REQUESTS” button. You will be directed to the Rise Church Care Portal landing page where you may review all open requests for assistance.
